Everyone always says the first step is admitting you have a problem. Well it’s time for me to admit I have a HUGE problem. I am 100% unreasonably addicted to books. There are definitely worse things to be addicted to. It seems lately that I get at least one new book a day.
My addiction started small, I’d buy a book maybe twice a month. Then I stumbled upon Jill Shalvis and her Lucky Harbor series…at this point I was buying multiple books a week and making trips to the library daily. After finishing the Lucky Harbor series, I found myself reading Fifty Shades of Grey. It was all downhill from there. Now I read at least a book a day.
I will confess I can’t go to the store without buying a book. Not only do I buy books every time I go to the store, but I also frequent my local used book store (there are some amazing treasures to be discovered at a used book store). The addiction doesn’t just stop with print copies…I am also a one-click junkie. The one-click button is just so pretty and constantly calls my name. Thankfully there is a long long list of free books that is always changing (don’t get me wrong this doesn’t mean that I wont still one-click a book that isn’t free).
Ok..time to get to the solution. I’m clearly not giving up reading. I need a place to talk about the books I read and all of the “people” that for a short time are a part of my life. So here at Book Readers Anonymous we are free to discuss the books we read and the characters that enter our lives…it will be our secret place to fill our addiction.
Hey followers…our wonderful host has asked me to share my two cents on this whole reading thing. I have an addiction…I have since I was a small child, but I know this is a safe place. Lol I have no plans on going into recovery. I love all of my books as if they were my children…and I like it that way. It’s all about priorities hahaha
I love all types of books, but lately romance has been my thing.I love all of the free books Amazon shows me on a daily basis. Sometimes I get so caught up with one clicking…I don’t realize I’m paying actual money for some. And my husband, who is a book Nazi, has grounded me indefinitely from buying anything that has a number other than 0.00 as it’s price. But thanks to our host, i have become sneaky sneaky. What he doesn’t know won’t kill him….at least not today. Lol
I look forward to discussing many book boyfriends and anything else with my fellow B.R.As. 💜📚📖
